We are the first European-based salvage company to provide sustainable end-to-end lifting and dismantling solutions for the Out-of-Service subsea cable industry. Founded and led by experienced pioneers in this industry, who have successfully recovered approximately 25,000km of Out-of-Service deep-sea cables since 2008.
As well as having a high level of expertise recovering oceanic cable, we are also an innovative dismantling company. By offering a turnkey solution for end-of-life cables we control the full end-to-end process of recovering the cables to the reintroduction of the materials back into a variety of industries through our dismantling facility we are taking all control and quality management of the entire value chain giving our partners, the assurances of supporting circularity while achieving any ESG goals to the highest industry standards they may have.
Our headquarters are located right on the Elbe River overlooking the port of Hamburg, Germany which serves as one of the oldest and largest ports in Europe. With regard to our Affiliations and Certificates, including our membership to International Cable Protection Committee, we keep up to date with the highest marine and terrestrial environmental and procedural standards, guaranteeing to comply with them in the execution of our services.
Position Overview
We are looking for a highly analytical and entrepreneurial Senior Finance & Project Controller to join our team in Hamburg. In this pivotal role, you will be the bridge between finance and operations, ensuring total financial transparency across our complex subsea projects. You will work directly with our COO and cross-functional teams to drive profitability and process excellence.
Your Responsibilities
- Project Finance & Cost Control: Drive full financial transparency across all subsea projects by managing comprehensive reporting, monitoring project costs (CAPEX/OPEX), and ensuring rigorous budget adherence.
- Operational Controlling: Partner closely with the COO to align operational performance with financial goals through detailed reporting.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Leading the annual budgeting process and regular financial forecasting.
- Process Optimization & Accounting Management: Oversee accounting workflows and drive continuous improvement in financial processes.
Your Profile
- Experience: You bring an extensive professional background and a proven track record in this or a similar role, specifically within an industrial background tracking CAPEX/OPEX for heavy assets.
- Communication: Fluent in English, proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Excel and a solid understanding of international accounting standards. You possess advanced skills in financial modelling with the ability to manage integrated cash-flow models.
- Tax Knowledge: Solid experience handling VAT coordination and knowledge of international invoice standards.
- Mindset: You are an entrepreneurial thinker who shows high initiative, reliability, and analytical precision.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work autonomously while collaborating across departments (Engineering, Tax, Procurement, and Operations).
